Israeli Minister of Transport, Road Safety and Intelligence Israel Katz warned of resuming targeted assassinations of Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip, Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported on Friday.

On Twitter, Katz wrote: “Hamas has to know that any attack on Israeli army commanders on the borders of Gaza would renew the targeted killing of Hamas leaders.”

He added: “The warning of Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine to open fire by snipers from Gaza at army commanders is a red line.”

Since March 30, which marks Palestine Land Day, the Palestinians have been peacefully staging protests along the eastern Gaza borders, calling for the implementation of the UN Resolution 194 which stipulates the return of Palestine refugees to their homes, as well as to lift the 11-year-old Israeli blockade in Gaza.

Israeli occupation forces have been dealing with Palestinian protestors violently. Israeli snipers have so far killed 37 of the protesters and wounded more than 4,000 others.

Several regional and international bodies accused the Israeli occupation forces of using lethal forces against unarmed protesters.
