The director of London-based satellite channel Al-Hiwar TV has said that the station has been told to stop covering the anti-coup protests in return for which its signal will be un-jammed by the Egyptian authorities.
Dr Azzam Tamimi rejected the offer. "They bargain with us: Stop your Rabaa El Adawiya coverage, and we stop the jamming," he wrote on his Facebook page. "And we respond: we will never leave Rabaa Square, no matter what you do; Allah has full power and control over His Affairs, but most people do not know."
The channel's administration added that it is now searching for alternative platforms. In the meantime, it is continuing to broadcast using other satellite feeds and the Internet.
