UAE top importer of Egyptian products

The UAE is the top importer of Egyptian products, with Saudi Arabia coming in second, figures released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics show.

The report, published with figures for February, shows that exports to the UAE totalled $353.3 million compared to $156.3 million in February 2016.

Saudi Arabia is second with exports exceeding $122.6 million; Egypt’s exports to Sudan stand at around $41.5 million, Jordan $38 million, Libya $33.3 million and Iraq $32.1 million.

Palestine and Somalia both imported $44,000 worth.

In total, the value of imports from Egypt to the Arab world totalled $462.9 million or 15.7 per cent of the total imports by countries around the world. Exports totalled around $855 million, 42.6 per cent of the total global exports.
