Palestinians condemn Israel’s attack on West Bank media outlets

Palestinians yesterday condemned the Israeli attacks and closures of Palestinian media firms in the occupied West Bank under the pretext that they “incite terror”, Quds Press reported yesterday.

Hamas spokesman Husam Badran said: “This is a proof that the Israeli occupation is afraid of the pioneering role of the Palestinian mass media in exposing its crimes across the globe.”

Islamic Jihad described the attack as a “crime that reveals the weakness of Zionism, which feels vulnerable in front of the world when the Palestinian mass media reveals its occupation, plans of stealing Palestine, systematic murder of Palestinians and torturing them at checkpoints.”

Al-Ahrar Movement said targeting Palestinian media firms “is considered a dangerous attack on freedom of expression and freedom of speech which are guaranteed by all the international laws and conventions,” noting this “will not suppress the voice of reality.”

Palestinian consensus government spokesman Yousef Al-Mahmoud said: “The Israeli occupation carried out a flagrant violation of international law as it attacked media offices that deal with words and images under unreal pretexts.”

This is the “highest degree of terror and piracy”, he added

The Palestinian Syndication of Journalists considered the Israeli attack on the Palestinian mass media as an “unprecedented, dangerous escalation” that reflects the Israeli “inability” to challenge the reality about its crimes as it was broadcasted to the world by the Palestinian media.

It said that no one believes Israel’s claims that the media outlets “incite terror” and called for the occupation to stop its “racism and hatred” which is being broadcasted by Israeli media outlets every day and night.
