The historical political experiences of the region’s countries provide a rich reference through which one can understand the patterns of political performance and means of dealing with the red lines. It also draws the guidelines that may determine the constants in order to preserve and protect them from being used as a playing card rather than creating political playing cards and utilising them to preserve the constants.

The developments in the Palestinian cause over the decades have contributed in determining the form of the constants on which the political thought of various Arab governments and political entities is based. This would determine the form of political performance based on the ability to distinguish constants and ideas and set contexts and frameworks that determine the areas of political action.

These constants derive their concepts from the beliefs, cultures and heritage of the Arab nations, which is generally based on the forms of the collective awareness involved in forming the Arab citizen’s social, political and cultural identity. This, in turn, establishes a unified context for an entity that can encompass all intellectual sub-identities.

We can categorise the determinants of the Arab identity under several categories based on these concepts. One of the most important categories is unity, in its cultural and social context, even with the failure and faltering of comprehensive political unity projects proposed throughout the contemporary history of the region.

The sharp political shifts that have and are occurring in the region have proven the importance of maintaining a unified political decision regarding issues. This has pushed the Arab political entities that formed after the independence, to think about building institutions that work to unite their political decisions and unify their discourse. The Arab League was established in order to serve this, and other goals and to work to achieve them.

This means that the unification of the Arab political decision was and still is an urgent need recognised by the Arab leaderships and governments early on, many decades ago. This has allowed for the establishment of a margin to unify perspectives since then in the face of political challenges that aim to undermine the capabilities of the Arab world, its political will and even its culture and identity.

However, the political challenges facing the region vary according to the political stage and its complications and results. Today, we are witnessing political polarisation which has become increasingly fierce due to various political factors. This has led to a blurring of the vision of the countries of the region in light of the jumbling of political cards and a change in the goals and aspirations of the regional and international players.

American President Donald Trump’s recent decision on moving the US embassy to Jerusalem and recognising the Holy City as the capital of the Israeli occupation’s state, expresses the state of confusion experienced by the Arab countries in dealing with an issue of this magnitude. This issue directly affects and contradicts with the Arab political constants and affects not only the rights of the Palestinian people, but the existence and being of the entire nation.

This is evident in the nature and form of the reactions to the American decision. Certain countries appear to be at the forefront of confronting the unjust decision with positions that emphasise their clear commitment to defending Jerusalem, considering it one of the nation’s critical issues. Meanwhile, the reactions of some other countries were not appropriate to the magnitude of the disaster or crisis created by Trump, which will have grave consequences on the future of the region and its nations.

This is occurring at a time when the nation needs to unite its ranks more than any other time before, especially since the arrows shot at them this time hit them in the heart, Jerusalem; the nation’s heart and symbol of its identity, doctrine, humanity and civilisation.

Although the details of the issue are more complex than what I have written in these lines, given the tragedies and humanitarian disasters suffered by several of the region’s countries, as a result of political and security turmoil, such as Yemen, Syria, Libya and Iraq, the unity of the political decision on crucial issues is the “key” to the current situation.

The message portrayed by the masses, who have and still are taking to the squares to express their rejection of the American decision, was saying that uniting in order to confront the conspiracy would be the solution. It will also meet the aspirations of the masses in utilising the potential and capabilities of the regional countries to thwart the Zio-American plan.

Nothing compares to the scene of the masses from countries that are being crushed by wars and turbulence, such as Yemen and Syria, taking to the streets to join their brothers from the other regional countries in their protests. They also send the clearest message that no matter how difficult their situation is, how much they are suffering, and regardless of the different perspectives, it will never change the fundamentals of the nation’s constants or shift the direction of the political compass away from its strategic goals.

Based on this, the region’s countries must rethink their considerations and calculations, as well as read their history carefully. They must not look for isolated alliances as an alternative to uniting their ranks in the face of a conspiracy that is targeting their existence, starting with the realisation of achieving the Zionist dream of achieving a state stretching from the Euphrates to the Nile. It then aims to fragment the countries, weaken them, and rob them of their political decision, followed by controlling their capabilities and enslaving their people, until the occupation state becomes the only centre and focus of the region, controlling its future and the fate of its people.

In order to unify the Arab political decision, it is necessary to resolve a number of issues in this critical stage, the most important of which are: first, achieving a Gulf reconciliation on the basis of setting aside differences and giving priority to national and regional interests. The strength and unity of the Gulf ranks gives strength for the entire Arab ranks, and the words and positions of King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz that aimed to unite the discourse of the nation in order to restore its rights to Palestine and restore the nation’s dignity, still echo in the ears of every honourable Arab fighting for the interests of their people and pride. No free and honourable individual could forget his initiative to use the weapon of oil in order to support the nation’s struggle in its war for liberation.

Second, determine the nation’s strategic options by establishing a united political front that addresses the US and West with one voice expressing a firm and steadfast position and calls for the end of tampering with the fate of the region and the people. This voice must also stress that the international community must address the Arab world as one body and one entity, that is respected, has its status and economic and political weight in the world, has complete sovereignty over its land and refuses to concede the rights of its people.

Third, hastening the pace of achieving the Palestinian national reconciliation, immediately putting an end to all pending issues, uniting the national frontlines, activating the popular resistance in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and activating and fuelling the third Palestinian intifada. The PA must also take urgent measures to completely and permanently stop all forms of security coordination and communication with the occupation authorities and to work on communicating with the components of the international community that reject the American decision, in order to rally all efforts and energies to pressure the American administration to withdraw the shameful decision.

Fourth, supporting and encouraging events and protests organised in Arab and Muslim cities, as well as international capitals and cities since Trump announced his ominous decision. These events must be blessed, as they express human maturity and wisdom, as well as free will, and we must work on giving them more momentum in order to increase their effectiveness until the American decision is thwarted.

Fifth, all political forces, with their different beliefs and intellectual foundations, including Islamist, national, liberal, etc., must be united in a joint alliance capable of leading the masses in the Arab world and guiding them to foil foreign conspiracies. It can also guide them to hindering opportunities to pass policies that aim to divide the nation, corner its political components, and control the fate of its countries.

In light of the severe international and regional turbulence in the region, the unity of the Arab political position and decision is of great importance for the purposes of preserving the region’s countries and safeguarding them from fragmentation and targeting. It is also important in order to protect the sanctities, capabilities and wealth, as well as the identity, culture and civilisation from the Zio-American invasion and conspiracy. This is especially true given the US’ adoption of the “creative chaos” policy for many years now, that aims to destroy political entities, downsize countries with a pivotal role and divide Arab communities and distract them with internal wars, as is the case in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Libya. This policy is carried out with the support of regional forces that have national projects, interests and aspirations achieved at the expense of the region’s countries and the interests of their people.

The aforementioned countries suffered the systematic destruction of their political and administrative structures and the destruction of social harmony after the establishment of a factional and sectarian or ethnic, tribal, or regional division. This aimed to create a tear in the social fabric that cannot be easily repaired, in order to guarantee that these communities do not prosper and resume to play the national, regional, humanitarian and cultural role that they played in the past.

The conspirators used their tools to carry out the mission, as it is no secret that the US military machine, its militias such as the Blackwater security company and others spread chaos within the Iraqi society. They targeted civilians in specific areas in cold blood. Moreover, creating Daesh to carry out a number of tasks, such as creating discord and conflict amongst the community and distorting the image of the tolerant religion of Islam in the minds of the people and the international public opinion. The radical organisation also caused the destruction of the countries’ infrastructure, particularly in Iraq and Syria, and exhausted its financial and human resources in a way that requires many long years and enormous resources for reconstruction and the restoration of the community’s economic, social and cultural structure.

The process of destroying countries and communities is not the main goal, but rather a part of the process of re-forming and re-drawing the image of the Middle East based on the plans of “creative chaos”. This aimed to distract attention from the Palestinian cause and to make it a marginal issue for the nations suffering from wars, chaos, and political and security turbulence. This gave the Israeli occupation the opportunity to freely change the status quo, including executing an unprecedented number of settlement projects in the occupied West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, as well as implement plans for the Judaisation of Jerusalem and other policies and practices that make it impossible to establish a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

The absence of the Arab countries suffering devastating civil wars, social division, and unstable security and political situations is considered the absence of a strong well Arab body that has enough immunity to stand in the face of these challenges and capable of standing firmly in the face of the passing of destructive plans that target the Arab body and spirit. Therefore, the national is currently in dire need of ending the conflicts in the Arab countries that play critical and pivotal roles in the region, and which have had real contributions to modern Arab history to empowering the nation, strengthening it, and providing it with sources of power and steadfastness.

Therefore, reuniting these communities, ending the state of social fragmentation and division, and restoring harmony by means of political and social reconciliation that will put them back on the track of joint Arab work and effective and true support for the Palestinian cause is considered a priority of achieving a united Arab position and decision regarding critical issues in the nation’s history.

Furthermore, ending the state of division and self-destruction within the neighbouring nations is first and foremost a humanitarian and moral requirement that will put an end to the bloodshed and stop the bleeding that hurts the heart of every Palestinian and Arab. Shaking off the burden of war will be a victory for the nation and civilisation, and will put an end to the Zion-American plotting. History has set an example for us when the Crusaders tightened their grip on our countries centuries ago, during a time in its history that the nation was weak, until Salahuddine Al-Ayoubi came and united the nations and removed the invaders one by one. He ultimately achieved a liberation project after igniting determination in the souls of the nation and put them on the right track to unity, dignity, and salvation from the invading occupation.

The American President’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and decision to move the US embassy to the city is an episode in the series of liquidating the Palestinian cause. This is especially since this step would not have been taken if it weren’t for the fact that the attention of the Arabs was distracted and not focused on Palestine, an issue that Arab politicians have always considered to be their top priority.

No one can predict what the upcoming phase has in store for the Palestinian cause and the future of the Arab nation. Most of the scenarios may be pessimistic enough to fill the air with despair and frustration, but cycle of life and faith in God’s abilities and fate confirms to us that the circle of life hides many good and bad things. It also shows us that calculating our moves and their consequences requires us to have vast knowledge about the events of history in order to understand our present and predict our future, which we cannot form on our own, but united in our decisions and determination, based on the facts of history. Within our unity lies our strength, prosperity and pride as a united nation immune and protected against invaders and plotters.
