Palestinian sources said that an Israeli bulldozer escorted by Israeli military police demolished the house of an Israeli Arab citizen in the neighbourhood of Zeemer, Quds Press reported yesterday.

Israeli bulldozers demolished the house, which was under construction, without any prior notice, claiming that it did not have the necessary building licences.

Tension between Arab citizens and Israeli police increased after the demolition with the Arab citizens expressed their rejection of the Israeli policies and practices against them which aim to uproot them from their homes.

About 1.8 million Arabs live in Israel. They are the descendants of 160,000 Palestinians who did not flee the Israeli massacres during the 1948 war. After the creation of Israel, authorities referred to them as Israeli-Arab residents.
