The Iraqi government has denied media reports claiming that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman plans to visit Iraq soon.

Government spokesman Saad al-Hadithi said in a statement Tuesday that the Iraqi government announces all official visits, noting that “the Iraqi government is open to all brotherly and friendly countries and to strengthen its relations according to common interests”.

“The policy pursued by the current government headed by Haider al-Abadi proved successful in returning Iraq to the international community and made it an effective force in the region”.

Media outlets have recently reported that bin Salman intends to visit Iraq, including Baghdad and Najaf to participate in the opening of the Saudi consulate and boost relations between the two countries.
