Ahmed Aboul Gheit, secretary general of the Arab League, warned on Monday that Israel may end the life of Palestinian Authority (PA) president, Mahmoud Abbas, the same way it did with the late president, Yasser Arafat, Al Watan Voice reported.

His remarks came in the wake of several Israeli officials warning that Abbas is an obstacle for Israeli-Palestinian peace.

As reported by Sputnik, Aboul Gheit confirmed that Israel’s representative to the UN spoke about this explicitly during the UN Security Council that discussed the US “Deal of the Century”, a few days ago.

Aboul Gheit also disclosed that although the Palestinians have suffered many losses: “They will not be defeated nor surrender.”

“If the Palestinians decide to take any certain measure relating to their future, the Arab state will support them,” he avowed, denying that the Palestinian issue was removed from the agendas of the Arab states.

Meanwhile, he warned that the alternative to the two-state solution is the one-state plan, where Palestinians and Israelis live within the same entity.

If this happens, Aboul Gheit warned, it would become a new apartheid regime because the Israelis would never accept dealing with the Palestinians as equals.

He affirmed that the Arab Peace Initiative is the ideal solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, noting that it has been proposed since 2002.
