Jordan has resumed exporting vegetables to Israel after a five-month halt, Israeli Kan reported yesterday.

The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture said in a statement that the kingdom’s agricultural exports to Israel amounted to 37 tonnes of cucumbers and peppers in August.

“Our agreement will raise Jordanian exports to Israel to more than 50,000 tonnes of vegetables and fruits,” the ministry added.

Amman and the Israeli occupation have signed an agreement to increase agricultural imports from the kingdom during the current year due to a religious obligation prohibiting the cultivation of land in Israel from September 2021 until the following September.
