The resulting fire spread to the nearby Gaslog Salem. Both crews were evacuated, the fire was contained, and no casualties were reported. Maritime security firms Ambrey and Vanguard identified a drone or unidentified projectile as the likely cause. Egypt’s Petroleum Ministry confirmed fires aboard two vessels but did not confirm a drone strike or identify the cause. No group had claimed responsibility at the time of writing.
