Writing about Palestine now: Celebrating the 2018 Palestinian Book Awards

November 29, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

| FREE

The Palestine Book Awards began in 2012 to honour every year the best new books in English about any aspect of Palestine. This award brings Palestinian literature, research and poetry to audiences across continents, and gives a platform for writers to be more widely known and appreciated.

Activist-writer Haifa Zangana and international journalist Victoria Brittain are celebrating the 2018 Palestine Book Awards hosted by MEMO for the first time in Manchester.

In conversation with PalREAD Postdoctoral Researcher Ruth Abou Rached, Haifa and Victoria offer a dynamic panel discussion about Palestinian writing as well as who is writing about Palestine and Palestinians in 2018.

As a conversation panel that invites audience interaction, this event is a unique opportunity to reflect on – and debate – what writing about Palestine means now, locally and globally.
