Turkish Foreign Ministry warns Israel over Jewish settlements

The Turkish Foreign Ministry yesterday said it was concerned about Israel’s decision to build 700 new Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem, adding that such a move was a clear violation of the international law.

In a statement released in Ankara, the  Foreign Ministry warned Israel about its decision to build new Jewish settlements and called on its leadership to review its decision and to avoid such construction on Palestinians’ lands.

“The decision to build new settlements is a clear violation of international law. It would also harm the efforts to revive the peace process and, cause distrust between the parties,” said the statement.
