Christians to take part in mass anti-coup demonstrations in Egypt

Egyptian Christian activist Rami Jan, founder of Christians against the Coup, has announced that his movement is going to take part in the anti-coup demonstrations across Egypt being planned on 6 October.

In a statement, Jan said: “We, the movement of Christians against the Coup, announce our intention to take part in the demonstrations on 6 October, which are aimed at condemning the military coup. The members of the movement will be distributed in several different places in order to cover as many marches as possible.”

The statement concluded with a phrase that shows the Muslim Brotherhood is not the only party affected by the coup; the Egyptian people are also affected. The phrase is: “The story is not about the Muslim Brotherhood, but a whole nation that was abused.”
