Israeli minister pessimistic over deal with Palestinians

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has expressed his skepticism about ever reaching a permanent peace agreement with the Palestinians, claiming the “time is not appropriate.”

Speaking at a Contractors Conference in City of Eilat on Friday, he said: “The efforts being currently exerted in this regard are similar to constructing a building amidst a severe earthquake.”

On the Iranian issue, he warned that the Middle East would witness a nuclear arms race should the international community recognise Iran’s right to deplete uranium.

He pointed out that Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia would also say that they had the right to deplete uranium.
