Jordan MPs call on government to summon Israeli Ambassador

81 Jordanian MPs have demanded their government to summon the Israeli Ambassador “to convey a message of protest against Jewish extremists calling to organize their religious celebrations on Islamic holy sites, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to prevent Muslims from practicing their religious rites.” The MPs also demanded that other Arab and Islamic parliaments denounce the Jewish extremists’ calls.

The MPs signed a memorandum presented on Wednesday to the Parliament Chairman that condemns Jewish extremists and Knesset members who are calling to prevent Muslims from praying at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and for extremists to celebrate the Jewish Sukkot holiday there instead.

The MPs stressed in their note “the need to stand with the Arab MPs in the Israeli Knesset who resist the extremists and work to expel them.”
