Qatar grants Tunisia $29 million

Qatar has granted Tunisia $29 million in accordance with two agreements signed between the two countries. The grant is in the form of an interest-free loan of $17.4 million alongside two non-refundable grants of $11.6 million and $1.1 million each.

The two agreements were signed by the Qatari Ambassador to Tunisia, Mr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Hemaidi, on behalf of Qatar and by the Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Riadh Bettaieb, on behalf of Tunisia.

In a statement made to the Qatari news agency today, the Qatari Ambassador stated that these grants constitute funding within the context of Qatar’s efforts to support their brothers in Tunisia and as a part of their development projects.
