Saudi calls for international action against Israel

Saudi Arabia has called on the international community to confront Israel and its illegal acts targeting the Palestinian people. The Saudi Minister of Culture and Information said in a press statement that the Cabinet in Riyadh reiterates the Kingdom’s condemnation of Israel’s unilateral actions to change the demographic reality of the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem. “We reject Israel’s imposition of a new reality that reflects its intentions regarding the announcement of it being a Jewish state,” added Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja.

The Minister appealed to the international community “to confront Israeli practices that constitute a violation of international law and United Nations resolutions”. He stressed the importance of working to stop Israel’s Judaisation of Jerusalem and putting an end to the economic and military blockade against the Palestinian people.

On wider regional issues, Dr. Khoja said that the Cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, appreciated the efforts of the 24th Arab League Summit held in Doha last week. He also welcomed the “Dushanbe Declaration” issued by the eleventh session of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in the capital of Tajikistan.
