Al-Nahda completes preparations for first post-revolution conference

Tunisia’s Al-Nahda (Renaissance) Party has announced that its 9th conference will be held on 12th-15th July in Tunis. It will be the movement’s first conference since the revolution which overthrew the Ben Ali regime.

Press statements by the organising committee included full details of last year’s election proceedings, including the regulations for the assembly elections. More than 51 per cent of the movement’s 58,000 members took part in the election process.

More than 1,100 delegates are expected to attend the conference, representing the executive branch, the central office, members from the diaspora and local groups. Both men and women will be well-represented, as will youth branch members.
