Raed Salah re-elected as head of Islamic Movement in Israel

The Islamic Movement in Israel has re-elected a new leadership under the chairmanship of Sheikh Raed Salah. The Sheikh will be serving for a second term in office.

The movement released the results of the election in a statement at the end of its tenth annual conference. Supporting Sheikh Raed will be Sheikh Kamal Khatib as his first deputy and Sheikh Hussam Abu Leil as his second deputy.

The Islamic Movement inside the Palestinian territories occupied since 1948 used the conference to consider the group’s current condition, its future plans and the latest developments in the region. The latter included the Israel attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and other holy sites in occupied Jerusalem as well as the racist discrimination faced by Palestinian citizens of the state of Israel.
