Arab League appoints committee to oversee implementation of Palestinian reconciliation agreement

During the June 1st extraordinary session of the Arab League, its Council decided to form a supreme committee to supervise and follow up on the implementation of the Palestinian national reconciliation agreement.
 
The committee will be headed up by Egypt with membership from Jordan, the UAE, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Morocco, Yemen and the League’s Secretary General.
 
At the close of the meeting on Tuesday, the League’s Council explained that during the committee’s first meeting, it would set up a working agenda and would thereafter submit regular reports to the Council.
