A plea has been made by the Bayt Al-Mal Al-Quds Agency for financial pledges made by Muslim and Arab states to be fulfilled. Made in resolutions of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Arab League, the pledges will help development projects in Jerusalem.
Reports in the Moroccan media claim that the Agency has called on the said countries to maintain their commitments to protect Jerusalem and support the resolve of Jerusalemites in the face of aggressive Israeli Judaisation policies. The Israeli government’s plans threaten the legal status of the Jerusalem, change its religious and civil heritage and endanger Arab and Muslim residents of the Holy City.
According to the reports, Bayt Al-Mal Al-Quds Agency implemented projects worth $12 million in 2010, benefiting education, health, women, children and social aid. The Agency plans to increase its activity in 2011, with projects costing $30 million.
