Israeli media reports on failure to assassinate Osama Hamdan

Hebrew-language media sources have claimed that a bomb explosion in south Beirut on Saturday was caused by a failed attempt to assassinate the senior Hamas representative in Lebanon. Osama Hamdan was, it is claimed, the target of the attack using a booby-trapped car. It is understood that the Israeli government’s Mossad spy agency was behind the attempt, the timing of which was notable, coming on the eve of the first anniversary of the Israli bombardment and invasion of Gaza. Mr. Hamdan is the head of the foreign relations department of the Islamic Resistance Movement. Two members of the Hamas “protection services” were killed in the blast.
