Retired Egyptian general and former Chief of Staff Sami Anan dismissed rumours about Muslim Brotherhood backing for his presidency bid as “nonsense”.
In a statement to Al-Shorouk newspaper, Anan said he would hold a press conference “within days” to respond to the rumours, confirming his decision to run for presidency.
