Minister of Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Qraqa stated that the Palestinian Authority obtained documents and medical reports that incriminate Israel, its medical teams and prisoner officials for deliberately committing war crimes against Palestinian patients in Israeli jails.
“We are ready to send these documents to the fact finding committee of the European Parliament which will arrive this month,” Qarqa said during his visit to families of two jailed patients, Ibrahim Hleibah and Amer Bahr. He added that his ministry will also submit the documents to all international human rights agencies because what happened “cannot be tolerated.”
He added that 2014 will be a tough year for sick prisoners if not released, particularly Cancer patients. “Every day that passes brings them closer to death,” he said.
“We are ready to prosecute Israel internationally if political tracks reach a deadlock and if the prison administration does not fulfil the demands of prisoners to improve their humanitarian and medical conditions.”
