Egyptian minister of transitional justice slams the January 25 revolution

The Egyptian military-appointed minister of transitional justice slammed the January 25 revolution as “a phenomenon” that fragmented the state and spread “double-citizenship”.

In an interview with Tahrir channel on Friday, Mohamed Amin Al-Mahdy, aged 78, said that his ministry was established following June 30 with the purpose of reviving loyalty to the nation.

“Nationality is the blood of Egyptians. But many citizens, including women, go to other countries to receive citizenship. This might be motivated by the need for security,” he said.
