Hamas willing to co-operate with all Palestinian factions to form technocrat government

Senior Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzouk has said that his movement is willing to cooperate with all Palestinian factions to form a technocrat government. He noted that this government would not be involved in security issues in Gaza and the West Bank. “Hamas will co-operate with Palestinian factions in order to find the best way to build the country”, he said.

During a tour of the Palestinian interior ministry in Gaza he said that the national unity government would unite the ministries in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. However, he said that security issues would remain untouched until “an elected government is instated.”

Abu Marzouk acknowledged the achievements of the interior ministry, especially in the field of safety and security. He recalled the martyrs killed at the time the ministry was being built. “The achievements of the ministry are not factional”, he said, “but they belong to all Palestinians.”
