Saudi Arabia calls for Arab League meeting on Syria to be delayed

Saudi Arabia requested the Arab League foreign minister’s meeting on the crisis in Syria, due to be held on Monday, be delayed, Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli announced today.

Saudi Arabia had been invited to the meeting to discuss the “necessary steps in order to tackle the crisis in Syria”

The meeting has been postponed indefinitely with no reason given.

Western and Gulf States opposing the Syrian regime will conduct a meeting in London on May 15 to discuss supporting the armed resistance.
