Israeli Security Agency admits using poison to assassinate Hamas leader

Israeli media reported that Shabak assassinated a leader of the Hamas movement in West Bank by using poison ten years ago.

According to the Voice of Israel, the two journalists Yossi Melman and Dan Raviv, intelligence specialists, revealed in their new book that Shabak ten years ago attempted to eliminate a senior military leader in Hamas in the West Bank, but didn’t mention his identity.

In the book, the reporters said that Israel tried to remove the senior Hamas figure initially via traditional weapons but did not succeed, so decided to use poison in his food.

Israel attempted to assassinate the head of political office in Hamas with poison, just as the Israeli leaders admitted to further the occupation state by poisoning the previous president, the deceased Yasser Arafat.

The two reporters stated that elimination of the unnamed leader occurred between the attempt on Khaled Meshaal and the poisoning of Yasser Arafat.
