Senator calls on US to work with Iran to stifle ISIS

The US needs Iran’s help to stop the advance of extremists towards Baghdad, CBS reported US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham saying yesterday.

“We need to coordinate with the Iranians” in Iraq, Graham said, describing the step as unattractive but perhaps unavoidable.

“We should have discussions with Iran to make sure they don’t use this to seize control of parts of Iraq. They’re in this, they’re already on ground. We need to put a red line. We can help stabilise. We need to sit down and talk to them.

“If Baghdad falls and the central government collapses in Iraq, the Iranians are the biggest winner, we’re the biggest loser,” Graham said.
