Red Cross: Force-feeding prisoners is 'illegal'

The International committee of the Red Cross warned doctors against force-feeding Palestinian prisoners who have been on hunger strike for 62 days.

Healthcare in Detention Coordinator at ICRC Raed Abu Rabi told Israeli radio yesterday that whoever forcibly feeds hunger striking prisoners would be violating the ethical standards of the profession. He warned: “Any doctor in the world who violates the law by force-feeding the hunger-striking prisoners can be prosecuted.”
