Four Palestinian children were killed in an Israeli airstrike in western Gaza City on Wednesday, a Health Ministry spokesman has said.

“Four children aged between 9 and 12 were killed and several others injured in an Israeli raid,” Ashraf al-Qodra told Anadolu Agency.

According to eyewitnesses, the attack targeted a group of children playing on a Gaza beach.

Al-Qodra said the children’s bodies were scattered across the beach in the wake of the attack.

The latest fatalities bring to 213 the total number of Palestinians killed in relentless Israeli aerial attacks on the Gaza Strip since July 7.

At least 1552 Gazans have been injured in the offensive, meanwhile, which Israel claims is aimed at halting rocket fire from the embattled coastal territory.
