Saudi ambassador to Doha likely to return soon

Qatari-Saudi relations are taking a positive turn amidst expectations that the Saudi ambassador to Doha is likely to return soon, Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed website said yesterday.

The website said that positive signs in the relations emerged after the visit of Qatari Emir Tamim Bin Hamad to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. According to the website, a number of senior officials from both countries joined the meeting between the Emir and Saudi King Abdullah.

Sources for the website said that the officials in the meeting concentrated on the three main issues –bilateral relations with Qatar, the crisis of the Gulf States and the situation in the region, including Gaza, Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

It is expected that the return of the ambassador will be followed by the end of a number of disputes which have come to light in recent months.

The discussions took place in Tuesday meeting considered the results of the visit of the Qatari Emir to Kuwait, which mediated between Doha and Riyadh.
