Hamas slams Netanyahu's ISIL comparison

Palestinian resistance faction Hamas on Wednesday lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for likening it to the militant Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group in Iraq and Syria.

“Comparing Hamas to the ISIL isn’t convincing anyone in the West,” Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said.

He called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities by countering what he described as “unprecedented Israeli terrorism.”

In a Wednesday interview with Israeli daily The Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu again compared the Palestinian resistance faction to the ISIL, claiming they were “two branches” of the same tree.
