Khaled Meshaal, the head of Hamas, warned against any plans that aim to prohibit the war against settlement expansion and the Judaisation of Al-Aqsa and described this as a national sin that will not succeed in its attempts.
Meshaal emphasised his belief that Israel is implementing these tactics on Al-Aqsa’s platform in order to trigger a greater Arab, Islamic and Palestinian reaction.
In an interview with Al-Sharq, Meshaal confirmed his belief that it was time for the world to hear the Ummah’s cries of resistance against the Judaisation of Jerusalem and its holy sites. He went on to say that the only way to abort Israel’s mission of Judaisation was to revolt in the face of the occupation.
The Hamas leader called on Arab leaders, particularly Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, to do their part, by virtue of their regional positions, to liberate Al-Aqsa because this issue is a pan-Arab and Muslim issue and not a Palestinian issue alone.
He also called upon the national unity government to carry out its responsibilities towards Gaza by ensuring that the Strip is well equipped against aggression as well as expediting the re-construction process. Meshaal warned that placing Gaza’s reconstruction in the enemy’s hands would taint the unity government’s overall position among the Palestinian people. He called on the international community to lift the siege on Gaza.
