Life in Shujaya, Gaza, is still very difficult. Residents are living between demolished houses, surrounded by rubble. They have nothing to protect them from the elements as winter approaches. Reconstruction has been stalled by Israel’s limiting of the entry of construction materials into the Strip despite this being one of the conditions of the ceasefire signed to end the 51-day war waged over the summer.
