Ennahda postpones naming presidential candidate it backs

Tunisia’s Ennahda Movement yesterday decided to postpone naming the presidential candidate it will support in the second round of the presidential elections until Saturday.

The movement’s head of the Shura Council, Fathi Al-Ayyadi said in a statement that the council held a meeting yesterday to choose a candidate to support in Tunisia’s December 21 presidential election but decided to postpone the decision until Saturday.

Ennahda remained neutral during the first round of presidential elections which were held on November 23.
