Muslim Brotherhood leader facing deteriorating health

Former Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood Mahdi Akef’s health is in a very poor condition, Judge Ayman al-Wardani said on Monday.

Al-Wardani wrote on his Facebook that Akef was admitted to the hospital for treatment after his health deteriorated.

He said that Akef has refused to apply for amnesty from the current President of Egypt, Abdul-Fattah al-Sisi, who led the military coup which unseated the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Morsi, despite his failing health.

Akef said that his persistence is a message to the rebels to remain persistent and continue the path of the revolution until they regain their rights.
