Israel sentences Palestinian student to six months in prison

The Israeli military court in the Occupied West Bank has sentenced Palestinian journalism student Lina Khattab to six months imprisonment and a 6,000 Shekel fine (around $1,500).

The court also instated a three year suspended sentence of 18-year-old Khattab, who is also a Folk Dancer and an activist, for what it called “participating in a protest in solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners” in front of the Ofer prison.

Israeli forces arrested Khattab in December last year, on charges of throwing stones at Israeli soldiers.
