Tunisia seeks to improve cooperation with Turkey

Tunisian Foreign Minister Taieb Baccouche yesterday stressed on the importance of bolstering cooperation with Turkey, particularly with regards to military and security, the Anadolu Agency reported.

During a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador Omer Gucuk in Tunis, Baccouche praised the “high level” of Tunisian-Turkish cooperation which already exists.

According to a statement by the Tunisian foreign ministry, Baccouche hailed the historic relations between Tunis and Ankara, stressing on the importance of military and security cooperation.

In addition, the statement also said that the foreign minister called for raising the economic partnership to the “highest levels”.
