Tunisia’s Prime Minister, Habib Essid reiterated his government’s decision to cut down the salaries of public employees on strike either as part of a union or on individual base.

Essid told governors on Saturday night during a meeting to review all financial transactions that have been pumped into projects that have not been exploited rightfully.

According to the prime minister, the gas- pipeline to Gafsa project, which cost nearly 69 million dinars, has been disabled for three years, which led to shutting down a number of relevant development projects.

Tunisia has been suffering from troubled security, political and economic situation characterized by labour strikes since the fall of the former regime.
