Algeria denies rift with Saudi

Algeria has good relations with Arab Gulf states, and there are no differences between it and Saudi Arabia, a senior government official stressed yesterday.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ramtane Lamamra, commented on a possible dispute between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, saying: “Our relations with our brothers in the Arab Gulf are good.”

Lamamra earlier refuted the existence of any dispute between Algeria and Saudi Arabia, stressing that the two countries enjoy a “strong, long-standing and distinguished” relationship.

Political, diplomatic and media circles in Algeria had reported details of disagreements between Algeria and Saudi Arabia over some issues, especially in dealing with the Syrian, Yemeni and Iranian files.
