EU calls for strict measures against settlers who killed Palestinian baby

The EU has called for strict measures to be taken against the extremist Jewish settlers whose arson attack burnt a Palestinian baby to death and injured three of his family members severely, Safa reported on Friday.

“The Israeli authorities should… take resolute measures to protect the local [Palestinian] population,” insisted the EU in a statement released by a spokesperson for Europe’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. “We call for full accountability, effective law enforcement and zero tolerance for settler violence.”

Describing the murder of Palestinian baby Ali Dawabsha as a “cold-blooded killing, presumably by extremist settlers”, the EU said that this “highlights the urgent need for a political solution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.”
