An armed group of Houthis stormed the home of Al-Jazeera manager in Yemen Saeed Thabet.
Speaking to alkhaleejonline.net, Thabet said: “A group of armed rebels yesterday evening stormed into my apartment in Sanaa after surrounding the neighbourhood where I live from all sides and tampered with its content.”
Thabet held “the forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Houthi rebel militias responsible for any damages to the apartment or its content and for any aggression against him or his family or relatives.”
Thabet explained that he had received several calls from unknown numbers threatening him and his family because of his job.
He called on the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate and the International Federation of Journalists to “intervene and put pressure on the status quo authority in Sanaa to stop harassing journalists”.
