The Islamic Educationa, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) has condemned the Russian airstrikes on a popular market in the Syrian city of Duma, Quds Press reported.

In a statement released on Friday, the organisation condemned the airstrike, which killed and wounded a large number of Syrians.

“This aggressive act proves that the Russian intervention in war, which has been going on in Syria, is a clear aggression on the Syrian people, not a war on terror as Russian leadership is claiming,” the statement said.

As a counter-measure, ISESCO called on the United Nations to take up its “moral and legal” responsibility towards this “ugly and aggressive act”.
