Erdogan: Turkey to continue supporting moderate Syrian fighters

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country will continue to train and support Syrian opposition rebels against the regime of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.

Erdogan explained yesterday evening that “friendly countries” are starting to believe in the importance of creating buffer zones in Syria.

“There are positive steps regarding the creation of no-fly zones and a ground intervention there,” he added.

The Turkish president criticised “some” countries’ warplanes which bombed civilians in predominantly Turkmen areas in northern Latakia under the pretext of fighting Daesh saying the attacks are “unacceptable”, adding that Turkey has expressed this to the states in question.
