Syrian regime airstrikes kill 53 people in East Ghouta

Syrian regime warplanes killed 53 civilians late Friday in the opposition-held region of Eastern Ghouta, Syrian Civil Defense sources told Anadolu Agency.

The sources said the regime air raids targeted a local market in Kafr Batna and residential areas in Jesrin. Homes in the targeted villages sustained severe damage.

Meanwhile, in Aleppo province, late on Friday Syrian opposition forces took control of Harba and Beragida villages east of Azaz city from Daesh, Abo Mohamed Nasser, media spokesman of al-Sham Front, told Anadolu Agency.

At least 250,000 people have been killed since the Syria conflict began in 2011, according to UN figures.
