Despite asking members of his security cabinet to take measures to bolster the PA, but he warned them to be prepared for “a worst-case scenario”, Haaretz newspaper reported yesterday.

“We must prevent the Palestinian Authority from collapsing if possible, but at the same time, we must prepare in case it happens,” Netanyahu told the security cabinet.

Officials said the collapse of the PA would put a burden on Israel forcing it to take charge of both security and civilian affairs in areas currently controlled by the PA.
