Gaza’s orphans call on Egypt to open crossing

Orphans held a protest in front of the Egyptian Embassy in the Gaza Strip yesterday demanding Cairo open the Rafah crossing which links the besieged enclave to the world and allow aid to enter the Strip.

Protest organiser Ismail Labd said: “The blockade imposed on Gaza has impacted all of society.”

“The orphans are the most impacted and are in the most in need group in the Gazan society. They protested today in front of the Egyptian embassy to demand the opening of the Rafah crossing and the alleviation of the blockade.”
