The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) denied reports that it informed residents, institutions or authorities in the Gaza Strip that a new war could be waged on the enclave.

In statements to Quds Press, ICRC spokeswoman in Gaza Suhair Zaqout called on the media to pursue accuracy before publishing news.

She said her organisation has nothing to do with the rumours circulating that the Gaza Strip would be subjected to a new war, adding that it did not inform the competent authorities or residents of the border areas about a possible war.

“As an international institution, we support the water and health sectors in accordance to needs, and there are lessons from the previous wars and conflicts.”

She pointed out that the Gaza Strip underwent three rounds of armed conflict and, as a result, the people of this area and institutions working there should naturally be ready.
