Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Mission to United Nations was briefly evacuated Tuesday after staff reported a suspicious package, officials said.
The New York Police Department told Anadolu Agency that a bomb investigation found no explosive traces and workers were allowed to return to the building.
The package arrived at the mission’s mailroom and contained a metal object that security personnel could not identify, the department said.
The mission is located near the UN headquarters in midtown Manhattan.
The main UN building was not affected by the incident.
